INTRODUCTION TO VOLUNTEERING<\/strong><\/p>\n \n I played Camogie growing up as a child at home. I then continued to play through my school years for Sacred Heart Grammar School, Newry. I also played for Carrickruppen Camogie Club and then at St. Patrick\u2019s Training College, Drumcondra for one year.<\/p>\n \n I loved playing the game growing up and my interest in getting more involved probably began there. The way I see it, one just gets in there to help out without being conscious of \u2018volunteering\u2019!<\/p>\n \n No, none really. This was never an issue starting off, however. Although it feels like I don\u2019t really have a past life before my involvement in Camogie!<\/p>\n \n VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n \n I\u2019ve been involved in Camogie my whole life and I\u2019ve gained a lot over the years. I\u2019ve made loads of new friends, from others who been involved a long time like myself, to the younger players and coaches developing in the game. The friendships I\u2019ve developed over the years really make it enjoyable and worthwhile even to this day!<\/p>\n \n My greatest moment was probably during my term as President of the All Ireland Colleges. During this time St. Patrick\u2019s, Keady reached the All Ireland Colleges Final. This moment was special for me because I was also a teacher at this school at the time!<\/p>\n \n AND FINALLY\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n \n \n \u2013 No politics!<\/p>\n \n \u2013 Getting to know people and places all over Ireland.<\/p>\n \n \u2013 And those wonderful women and players who eat, sleep and breathe Camogie.<\/p>\n \n Come on!
